Teabag Folding Card Making Idea Using Floral Doodle Papers

My Floral Doodle, Teabag Folded 'Thinking Of You' Card Idea

I created this card using the beautiful Floral Doodle printable papers

I learned the teabag folding skill in a recent session at a card making course. I wanted to experiment with papers of my choice rather than with just the geometric tiles I had used in the class. I could just picture how effective the Floral Doodle papers would be as rosette motifs mounted on toning or contrasting Floral Doodle papers.

I used 'Floraldoodle-03' paper to create the teabag folded rosette.

I used the rosette to embellish the 'Floraldoodle-26' paper. And this was mounted on pale blue card, and then on white card.

An added bonus - by using these Floral Doodle papers I could punch out the teabag squares with my square punch rather than having to cut out all the tiles by hand!

The 'Thinking of you' sentiment (peel-off) is mounted on the same blue card, mounted in turn on 'Floraldoodle-26' paper and then on white card, with border peel-offs, as in the photo.

I have made several of these cards with various combinations of Floral Doodle papers, using them as 'Thank you' cards, 'Thinking of you' etc.

Thank you, Claire!
Julia

Can you give the directions for folding the squares to make the tea bag flowers?
Love it!

I enjoy teabag folding and am always looking for new papers to use! I didn't think to use my square punch instead of cutting and cutting ... AWESOME IDEA!!! Definitely worth copying :) Thanks!

Dear Anonymous,
The teabag folding rosettes are not difficult to make, but do require diagrams as the verbal instructions alone are difficult to follow.

But you can search for teabag folding rosette patterns on the net. There are many free patterns available.

Best wishes,

Tutorial Request Noted
by: Claire from Making-Handmade-Cards.com

Hi everyone

If enough people request a tutorial on Teabag Folding, I'll consider making a video tutorial for you all (free to newsletter subscribers). I have many requests for different techniques, so the more requests I get for this, the higher it will move up my 'video tutorial topics' list. ;0)

I love this card. I learned to tea bag fold on line and have made many pretty cards. I never thought of using a punch for the squares (or circles). Thanks for that tip.

What a great idea. I have done lots of teabag folding on cards using the squares, but like this idea better - gives an entirely original look. Will 'copy' your idea and make some cards for Mothers Day.

I adore this card, the Floral Doodle papers are so versatile aren't they? As with the previous responses a teabag video would be most helpful. I have fancied trying this before but good instructions are difficult to find. Thank you for sharing this lovely card with us all.
