Make Your Own Christmas Cards

Make Your Own Christmas Cards

A Christmas Winter's Night

You'll find lots of ideas in this section, if you want to make your own Christmas cards. Here's a gorgeous card making idea for you...

This Christmas card making idea really reminds me of a festive Christmas night. Eggnog, a cosy fire, and snowflakes lightly falling outside on a winter's night.

Difficulty Level: An easy Christmas card making idea.

To make this card you will need the midnight blue 'Wishing You A Merry Christmas' backing paper, and the cream snowflake design backing paper, which can be found in our Printable Christmas Card Making Kit here...

You Will Need:

  • A plain folded card (C6)
  • The midnight blue 'Wishing You A Merry Christmas' backing paper, and the cream snowflake design backing paper, both from the Printable Christmas Card Making Kit here...
  • Gold stars
  • Gold and cream skeleton leaves
  • Clear flower bead (or any navy, gold, cream or clear bead that can cover the base of the leaf stalks)
  • Spray on glue (I used 3M's Spray Mount)
  • Craft knife or scissors

How To Make Your Own Christmas Cards

  1. Print it out! Open up the Printable Christmas Card Making Kit [the what?] and print out the midnight blue 'Wishing You A Merry Christmas' backing paper, and the cream snowflake design backing paper.
  2. Spray glue it! Spray glue the front of your card. I used 3M's Spray Mount glue.
  3. Cut and tear it!
    • Cut a strip of the cream snowflake backing paper, slightly longer than the height of your card. It should span about a third of the width of your card. Fix it along the outer edge of the front of your card. Then flip your card over and trim away the excess backing paper with a craft knife.
    • Cut a strip of the midnight blue backing paper, slightly longer than the height of your card. It should span a good three quarters of the width of your card. Carefully tear the right side, to give it a hand-torn look.
  4. Spray glue and fix it! Spray glue the back and then fix the midnight blue backing paper onto the left side of your card. Then flip your card over and trim away the excess backing paper with a craft knife.
  5. Make Your Own Christmas CardsSpray glue it! Spray glue the back of the skeleton leaves and then fix them into place onto the front of your card. I used 3M's Spray Mount glue.
  6. PVC glue it!
    • Add 5 blobs of glue, equally spaced out, down the right side of your card (on the cream part). Fix 5 gold stars to these blobs of glue.
    • Add a big blob of glue onto the base of the skeleton leaves. Fix the clear flower bead (or bead of your choice) onto the blob of glue.

And voila! That's how easy it is to make your own Christmas cards!
