New Card Making Idea For Christmas

A Very Beady Christmas Pudding!

Are you searching new card making ideas for Christmas?

Your printer is one of the most useful, yet often the most overlooked tool in your crafting arsenal. So why not try printing some cool card making images and backing papers for your Christmas cards?

This printable inkjet image of a Christmas pudding comes to life with a couple of red seed beads and some sparkly heat embossing. Here's how to make it...

Difficulty Level: An easy Christmas card making idea (knowledge of how to heat emboss is needed)

To make this card you will need the purple-backed pudding image, which can be found in our Printable Christmas Card Making Kit here...

You Will Need:

  • A plain folded indigo or dark blue card (C6)
  • The purple-backed pudding image from the Printable Christmas Card Making Kit here...
  • Clear, deep red seed beads
  • PVC glue
  • Spray on glue (I used 3M's Spray Mount)
  • Black embossing pen
  • Holographic embossing powder
  • Heat tool (heat gun)

How To Make This New Card Making Idea For Christmas

  1. New Card Making Idea For ChristmasPrint it out! Open up the Printable Christmas Card Making Kit [the what?] and print out the page that contains the purple-backed pudding design.
  2. Tear it! Carefully tear along the inner edges of the purple rectangular design. You'll be left with a hand-torn purple rectangle with the Christmas pudding picture in the center.
  3. Spray glue it! Spray glue the back of the purple hand-torn rectangle and stick it onto the top third of your card.
  4. Tip: Try to make sure there's the same amount of space (give or take) around the top, as there is on the left and right sides of your hand-torn rectangle.
  5. PVC glue it! Stick 3 deep red seed beads over the berries on the Christmas pudding picture. Leave to dry.
  6. New Card Making Idea For ChristmasWrite 'n' emboss it! With your black embossing pen, write 'pudding' (or any other festive message) just below the Christmas pudding picture, aligned to the right. Do this quickly (or in stages), so that you can sprinkle on the holographic embossing powder before the ink dries. Use the holographic embossing powder and your heat tool to emboss the design onto the card as you go along.

And there you have it! A cute and fun little inkjet Christmas card! You can find lots more great printable, inkjet Christmas images, pictures, clip art and backing paper in our Printable Christmas Card Making Kit here...
