So if you're looking for homemade greeting card ideas, here's how to make this sweet little card...

Difficulty Level: An intermediate homemade greeting card idea.

To make this card you will need the printable Sweetie Pie Bumper-Sized eKit, which can be found here...

And you will also need the printable 'Christmas Doodles' eKit, which can be found here...

You Will Need:

  • An A6 white gatefold card blank or a piece of A5 white card
  • Sheets 1, 3, 6 and 14 from the '5-sweetie' folder, and sheet 8 from the '21-gorg-man' folder, all from the Printable Sweetie Pie Bumper-Sized Card Making Kit here...
  • Sheet 7 from the printable Christmas Doodles eKit here...
  • Ruler, scissors or craft knife and cutting mat
  • Score board (if not using gatefold card blank)
  • White card and paper
  • Oval punch / dies (you can also use fancy edged scissors)
  • colored pens / pencils
  • Double sided tape / glue
  • Glitter
  • Self adhesive heart gems
  • Black fine liner pen
  • Glossy accents / glaze pen

Homemade Greeting Card Ideas
How To Make It...

  1. Print it!

    1. Open up the '5-sweetie' folder from the Printable Sweetie Pie Bumper-Sized eKit [the what?].

      1. Print out sheets 6 and 14 on to white paper
      2. Print out sheets 1, and 3 on to white card.
    2. Open up the '21-gorg-man' folder from the Printable Sweetie Pie Bumper-Sized eKit [the what?]. Print out sheet 8 on to white card.
    3. Open up the Printable Christmas Doodles eKit [the what?]. Print out sheet 7.
  2. Fold it! If you are not using a gatefold card blank then score your A5 card to make a gatefold card using your scoreboard.
  3. Cut it!

    1. Cut 2 rectangles from sheet 14 slightly smaller than the panels on the front of your card.
    2. Cut a rectangle from sheet 6 slightly smaller than the inside of your card.
    3. Cut out one heart from sheet 3 leaving a white border all the way around.
    4. Cut out one of the sentiments from sheet 1 leaving a white border all the way around.
    5. Cut out an oval around the girl image from sheet 7 using either your scissors, punch or die.
    6. Cut a slightly larger oval from sheet 8 using your fancy scissors or scallopped punch/dies.
  4. Color it! Using your pens and pencils colour the image from the Christmas Doodles eKit.
  5. Glue it!

    1. Glue the rectangles from sheet 14 to the front panels of your card.
    2. Open your card and glue the rectangle you cut earlier from sheet 6 to the inside of your card.
    3. Now add your sentiment to the centre of sheet 6.
    4. Add a heart to the bottom right corner of your insert.
    5. Glue the image to the scallopped oval - allow to dry.
    6. Now glue the left hand side of the oval to the left hand side panel, making sure that it is central to your card front.
Homemade Greeting Card Ideas
  1. Get doodling! With your fine black liner doodle around the edges of the papers and add little dots to each scallop.

  2. Bling it!

    1. Add some glitter to the fur trim of the image.
    2. Place your gemstones to the bottom of the right hand panel.
    3. Finish with adding some glaze to the buttons of the jacket... perfect!
