- Embossing heat tool
Steps For Making This Halloween Greeting Card Making Idea ...
- Print it out! Open up the Halloween Card-Making E-kit [the what?] and print out the pages that contain the images of the ghost, bat and moon. Also print out the page that has the 'Have A Spooky Halloween!' slogan on it.
- Spray glue it! Spray glue the ghost sheet onto some card.
Cut
it out! Carefully cut out one ghost shape, one bat, and one
moon, from your print-outs.- Spray glue it! Spray glue the moon and fix near the top of the card.
- Transfer it! Using your soft B pencil, scribble hard onto the back of the 'Have A Spooky Halloween' slogan you printed out. Then flip it over, position it on the bottom of the front of your card, and outline the slogan with a ballpoint pen, pressing fairly hard. Because the pencil led is shiny, you should just about be able to see the outline on your card, once it's been transferred.
- Emboss it! Next you need to emboss the slogan on
the front of your card, and the small bat shape cut-out.
- Draw over the phrase with your black embossing pen in stages, so that you can sprinkle on the silver embossing powder before the ink dries. Use the silver embossing powder and your embossing heat tool to emboss the design onto your card as you go along.
- Color in the bat cut-out with your embossing pen and emboss with the black embossing powder.
- Bend & glue it! Bend the wings of the bat so that the embossed side of the wings bend towards you. Put a small dab of PVC glue near the top left corner of the moon, and stick the bat's body to it.
- Foam squares: Fix some foam squares to the back of your friendly ghost cut-out and fix into place.
Tip: You can skip this step if you prefer to print the ghost sheet directly onto card instead of paper.
Tip: This is tricky because the bat is so small - I had to emboss half first, holding the other wing with the end of a pen while I used the heat tool. Don't burn your fingers now!
Tip: Make sure the wings are not glued down so that they bend up, away from the card.
And voila! Now you have some great halloween cards for kids!
