How do I watch the videos that're on your website?

Below is a picture that shows you the arrows you should click on in order to watch a video (either arrow will do.)

If you don't see a screen similar to this, then it means you'll need to install the free Flash player plugin on your computer. This will hopefully let you watch the videos. You can download the free Flash player plugin here:

Back To The Questions

Why does the video stop and start when I'm trying to view it?

Some people with slower Internet connections may have problems getting the videos to play smoothly. If the video doesn't play smoothly, then I recommend that you wait until the whole video has loaded:

1. Press the play button and let the video play for a couple of seconds.

2. Press the pause button. You'll see a lighter grey bar start covering up the darker grey 'play bar'. Wait until the light grey bar has reached the end. This can take a minute or two, depending on how long the video is.

3. Press the play button again. The video should play smoothly now. Fingers crossed!

Back To The Questions

I signed up for your free Newsletter. Why haven't I received any messages yet?

Possible Reason 1: We have sent you a 'confirmation email' with the subject heading starting with 'Response Required', just to double check that your email address is correct and that you really wish to receive our newsletter. Have you clicked the confirmation link in the verification email?

Solution 1: You will need to click the confirmation link in that email, in order to receive your welcome message (with your freebie in it!) The email subject heading starts with 'Response Required'.

Possible Reason 1: If you have already clicked on the confirmation link in the verification email, you should receive a 'Welcome' email within 24 hours. If you can't find either email, then it may have been mistakenly redirected to your junk mail / spam box by your email provider.

Solution 1: If you have not received the 'Response Required' email or the 'Welcome' email...

Please look in your junk mail / spam folder for an email titled 'Response Required:' or if you have clicked the confirmation button, please look for an email titled, 'Welcome To The Free Making Handmade Cards Newsletter'.

Important: Please add the newsletter email address to your contact list or address book, and to your whitelist (if you have one) so that the messages don't end up in your spam/junk mail box in error. The newsletter's email address can be found in the 'from' field of your newsletter emails.

If you have done the above, and would like us to resend your 'Welcome' email, please contact us here...

Possible Reason 2: It could be that your ISP (Internet Service Provider) isn't allowing our emails to reach your inbox.

Solution 2: If the steps above have not worked, please try subscribing to the newsletter again using a different email address from an alternative email provider. Gmail (Google's own email service) is a good alternative - and it's completely free.

eShop, Orders & Payments

I'd like to place an order with you. How secure is your eShop?

We quite understand that people may have concerns regarding online security and safety. We take this very seriously, so please rest assured that your card details are safe.

The Making-Handmade-Cards.com eShop is protected by McAfee's leading security gateway, and is tested for security and fraud purposes on a daily basis. (So it has got very good security.) We also use a https web address on our order pages, which means our eShop is fully secure and has a Secure Sockets Layer Certificate (aka SSL Certificate). Having such a certificate means we provide security and data integrity for communications placed over the Internet.

Also, if an order isn't successfully completed and processed, all order details - including credit card information - are automatically removed from our system.

Back To The Questions

I'd like to place an order but don't have a credit/debit card. Do you accept any other form of payment?

Many of our customers who are unable to pay by credit/debit card, choose to use Paypal insteadl. It's a very safe and secure way to pay online, and it's used by millions of people worldwide.

To pay by Paypal, you just need to open a free Paypal account (just click on the bright 'sign up' button to get started). This is very quick and easy to do. Then you can transfer money from your bank account to your new Paypal account.

Then, once you've visited our eShop, added the items you'd like to order to your shopping cart and pressed the 'checkout' button, you'll see three tabs in the 'payments' section: Credit Card, Debit Card, and Paypal. To pay by Paypal, you just need to click the Paypal button. It's very easy and safe to use.

I live outside the UK. How can I find out how much your eKits cost in my own currency?

If you'd like to find out how much our eKits cost in your own currency, you can use a currency convertor like this one here...

I live in the UK, however when placing an order I cannot change the "State" field. How can I resolve this?

a) Please contact us here to let us know what you'd like to order (and that you're having problems using the order page).

We'll email you a 'Paypal' invoice.

Paypal is a well respected payment processor that is used by millions of people all over the world. It's safe, secure, and you don't need to be a member of Paypal to pay for your order. You can pay by credit or debit card.

Once we receive your payment, we'll send you your purchases. Please contact us here to request a paypal invoice for the items you'd like to order.

b) The alternative solution is to troubleshoot. You may need to clear your browser's cache and cookies.

Solution 1: If you're using Internet Explorer:

1. Click on Tools
2. Click on Internet Options
3. Click on Delete
4. Click on Delete for Temporary Internet Files
5. Click on Delete for Cookies

Solution 2: If you're using Firefox:

2. Click on Clear Private Data Now
3. Ensure Cookies and Cache are the only two selected
4. Click on Clear Private Data Now

If for some reason the problem persists, we would need to know the browser type and version being used in order to investigate further. This information is usually stored in the menu bar of your browser and can be located by taking the following steps:

1. Click on Help
2. Click on About

Once you know the browser type and version that you're using, please contact us with details of your problem and what you're trying to order, here...
