Sparkling Violet Holly

This particular Christmas card making idea is so easy yet it's really eye-catching and looks very sophisticated. The purple glitter makes this sparkling card really stand out.
I've chosen to use a tall card blank but you can just as easily use a standard sized card. This site is here for inspiration after all, so hopefully you add more personal touches along the way!

To make this card you will need the violet-backed holly image, which can be found in our Printable Christmas Card Making Kit here...
You Will Need:

A plain folded white card (long). You can also use light violet colored card.
- The violet-backed holly image from the Printable Christmas Card Making Kit here...
- Purple glitter
- PVC glue
- Spray on glue (I used 3M's Spray Mount)
How To Make This Easy Christmas Card Idea ...
- Print it out! Open up the Printable Christmas Card Making Kit [the what?] and print out the page that contains the violet-backed holly design.
Tear it! Carefully tear along the inner edges of the violet rectangular design. You'll be left with a hand-torn violet/pink rectangle with the white holly image in the center.- PVC glue it!
- Carefully color in the holly design with your glue. Don't use too much and make sure you don't go over the edges of the holly design.
- Outline the hand-torn edges of the rectangular image with your PVC glue.
- Glitter it! Sprinkle some of the purple glitter over the design (make sure you place a folded piece of scrap paper underneath, to catch the excess glitter when you shake it off). Tap off the excess glitter and return to the pot. Leave to dry.
- Spray glue it! Spray glue the back of the glittered violet rectangle and stick it onto the top third of your card. Tip: Try to make sure there's the same amount of space (give or take) around the top, as there is on the left and right sides of your hand-torn rectangle.
Even though this Christmas card idea is really easy to do, the final result really is stunning.
Make It Your Own!
Don't forget that you can add your own personal touches to this card idea, to make it your own.
Matting and layering techniques can be applied to make the holly design stand out even more. For example, you could cut out (or rip) a few larger rectangles of different backing papers, and glue them one on top of the other, so that their edges show, placing the ivy design on top. This will add more depth to your card.
Don't stop there - add a line of handwritten text just below the ivy center piece to add that extra personal touch!
