A Cute Idea For Making A Greeting Card

Craft : Card Ideas For Teenage Girls : Simply Gorgeous!

Funky Pink Flower Design Using 3D Paints & Seed Beads

Have you been searching for a cute idea for making a greeting card?

Here's a really cute homemade card idea. This eye-catching design literally takes about a minute to make. But it does take a while to dry because of the 3D-paint.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate (You need to be able to draw a flower freehand and to use 3D paints)

You Will Need:

  • A plain folded white card (C6)
  • PVC glue
  • Bright pink seed beads
  • Pink 3D Paint
  • Pearlized white 3D paint

How To Make This Cute Greeting Card Idea...

  1. With your 3D Paint: I find that 3D paint looks best when you keep the pressure and flow going. This is why I recommend you draw your flower freehand. This will ensure you can draw it quickly and keep the pressure on the flow of paint.

You can try to draw your flower on a piece of scrap paper and transfer it over to your card using carbon paper, but trying to draw over a traced design can sometimes make it harder to keep the flow of the 3D paint. So it may ultimately affect the final look of your card.
Tip: Try to draw as much of the design in one go, as you can. The design will look better if it's one continuous line instead of lots of little breaks.
    • Draw the petals. Use the pink 3D paint to draw the main flower head. Keep the pressure and flow going, to make sure the paint forms a fluid and solid line.
    • Cute Idea For Making Greeting CardDraw the center, stalk and leaves: Use the white pearlized 3D paint to draw a small swirl in the center of your flower. Leave enough room inbetween the swirl and the petals so that you can place your beads around the swirl. Draw the stalk and leaves with the same paint. Try to draw it all in one go (i.e. no breaks). Again, keep the pressure and flow going, to make sure the paint forms a fluid and solid line.
  2. Glue: Add small blobs of PVC glue around the center of your swirl. Don't do too many. Keep it simple - less is more!
  3. Add your seed beads: Carefully place the seed beads onto your card and leave to dry.

And voila! The cute greeting card idea comes to life! This card design can be used for many occasions, including for birthdays, 'just a note to say...', thank you cards and so forth.

There are lots of cute homemade card ideas you can think up, based on this method. Why not play around with the style and colour of the flower to add your own personal touch? You can also try changing the shape of the petals and leaves (make sure your shape is fairly simple though).
