Your Project Steps ...

  1. Print it! Open up the printable 'Vintage Christmas' ekit [the what?].

    1. Print out sheet 'vintage-xmas019' onto card.
    2. Print out sheet 'vintage-xmas-138' onto paper.
    3. Print out sheet 'vintage-xmas-082' onto a sheet of card. Use your printer settings to print two to a page (at 50%). Tip: If you're unsure how to do this, you can watch our free 'Printing Tips' video here...
    4. Open up sheet 'vintage-xmas-063' in Windows Photo Gallery (see video above for how to do this).
      1. Click the 'fix' button.
      2. Then click the 'crop' button.
      3. Now adjust the dashed box so that it surrounds one of the ivy designs. When you're ready, press 'apply' to crop it.
      4. Then click the 'print' button and print a copy onto some card
  2. Stick it! First, let's make your card blank. Take your sheet of A4 card and mark out a large rectangle (10.5cm x 30cm), then cut it out.
  3. Fold it! Score the large rectangle in half and fold it to create your card blank.
  4. Trim it! Trim 1 inch away from the right hand side (front flap only).
  5. Decorate it! Grab your border punch or scallop edged decorative scissors and carefully cut along the edge, to create an eye-catching border.
  6. Cut it!
    1. Grab sheet 'vintage-xmas019' and mark out a rectangle that measures 43/8" x 41/8". Cut the rectangle out.
    2. Next, mark out a strip from sheet 'vintage-xmas-138'. The strip should be the height of your card and a 1.5" wide. Cut the strip out.
    3. Let's cut the ivy image out now. Grab the cropped ivy image that you printed from sheet 'vintage-xmas-063' and carefully cut around the holly. Tip: You don't need to cut every detail out, just a few of the main swirly ivy parts.
    4. Now for your Christmas greeting! Trim around your chosen sentiment from sheet 'vintage-xmas-082', making sure you 'round' the corners.
  7. Stick it!
    1. Stick the brown patterned rectangle to the front of your card using double sided tape or glue. Tip: Make sure you position the rectangle so that it lines up against the edges on the left hand side, leaving the decorative edge free.
    2. Stick the red polka dot strip to the inside of the back flap (so that it shows from behind the thinner front flap with the decorative edge).
  8. Stitch it! Next doodle some faux stitching around all the edges, using your light brown marker pen.
  9. Sand it! Use your sand paper to distress all the edges. This will soften the color.
  10. Add ribbon! Attach a knotted ribbon to the front of your card, as shown in the photo.
  11. Add glitter! Using your gold glitter pen, lightly draw over a few of the leaf veins. Tip: More is less in this case, so try to use your glitter pen very sparingly.
  12. Foam pads!
    1. Stick your Christmas greeting to front of your card using foam pads or foam tape.
    2. Apply a little glue and foam pads or foam tape to the ivy leaves and stick it to your card, as shown in the photo. Tip: Make sure you tuck some of the leaves under the framed sentiment so that the ivy design 'flows' over the front of your card. See the photo for guidance.
  13. Add pearls! Stick your adhesive pearls or gems over the holly berries.

Wow! We can't believe this project was over so quickly! Wasn't that fun? And just look at what you've created. A veritable piece of vintage Christmas chic!
