A Cute Pink Marabou Creature!

This site has lots of free card making ideas. Here's a rather cheeky and cute card! It's a great greeting card design that's great for a fun, light-hearted birthday message.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate

You Will Need:

• A plain white folded card
• Small piece of spare card
• Pink marabou trimming
• Two googly eyes
• Embossing heat tool
• Silver embossing powder
• Clear embossing pen or a 'Happy Birthday' stamp with embossing ink pad
• Scissors or a craft knife
• PVC glue
• Spray glue (I use 3M's Spray mount)
• Foam squares

How To Make This Free Card Making Idea

1. Spray-glue it! Bunch up a small piece of marabou trimming and spray glue the underside if it. Stick it to your folded card and use some extra PVC glue to stick it into place if needed.
2. Googly eyes! Part some of the marabou hairs aside, and stick two small blobs of PVC glue (quite close together) onto the middle of the marabou 'lump'. Glue the eyes into position.
3. Emboss! Next you need to emboss the 'Happy Birthday' message onto the spare piece of card. Either use your computer to print out 'Happy Birthday' onto some card, or write it freehand. Draw over the name or phrase with your clear embossing pen in stages so that you can sprinkle on the embossing powder before the ink dries. Alternatively, use a 'Happy Birthday' stamp. Use the silver embossing powder and your embossing heat tool to emboss the phrase onto your card.
4. Speech bubble! Draw a speech bubble around your embossed slogan and cut it out.
5. Foam squares! Fix a few foam squares to the underside of the speech bubble and stick it to your card so that part of the speech bubble arrow overlaps the pink fluffy creature.
6. Trim It! I started out using a C6 card and then trimmed the card down as my last step, to turn it into a cute, dinky card!
