Torn Paper Layering With Gold Faux Gem

What's great about this design idea is that it's suitable for most occasions. What's more, change the color, patterned paper and gem stones, and you have a completely different card.

You Will Need:

A plain white folded card (C6)
- Tracing paper
- Vanilla colored handmade paper
- Gold patterned paper
- Gold faux circular gems of different sizes
- Spray on glue (I used 3M's Spray Mount)
- Scissors or a craft knife
- PVC Glue
Steps For Making This Free Card Making Idea
Tear it! Carefully tear one strip from the gold patterned paper (approximately 3cm high). Tear a wider strip from the vanilla-colored handmade paper (6-7cm tall). Finally, tear two thinner strips from your tracing paper (approximately 3cm high). All strips should span the width of your card (approximately 10cm), and their edges should be neatly trimmed with scissors or a craft knife. - Glue it! Spray glue the gold patterned paper and position it onto the middle of the wider strip (made of vanilla-colored handmade paper). Then spray glue the tracing paper strips and position them onto the back of the top and bottom of the vanilla-colored handmade paper (so that their edges are overlapping). Then spray glue the back of the whole thing, and stick it to the front of your card.
- Add some sparkle! Pick a couple of focal points in the gold patterned paper and glue some faux gems onto them. Then glue some faux gems to the top and bottom edges of the vanilla-colored handmade paper.
And voila! The free card making idea comes to life!
