A Birthday Card Making Idea

Birthday Card Ideas

Gold Design With Embossing And 3D Gift Sticker

Beautiful birthday card ideas : A simple and original gold and white card design with a 3D gift center-piece.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate

You Will Need:

  • A plain white folded card (C6)
  • One thin strip of tracing paper
  • One foam square
  • Embossing heat tool
  • Gold embossing powder
  • Clear embossing pen
  • One gold sticker of a small gift
  • Acetate
  • Spray on glue (I used 3M's Spray Mount)
  • Scissors / craft knife
  • Gold seed beads

How To Make This Birthday Card Idea

  1. Stick it on! Stick your gold gift sticker on to some acetate and carefully cut the acetate out, leaving approximately 1mm from the edges of the sticker.
  2. birthday card ideasGlue it on! Glue 4 or 5 seed beads to the top of the bow of the gift sticker. Leave to dry.
  3. Cut it out! Cut out a thin strip of tracing paper, the length of the height of your card. My strip was approximately 2.5mm wide.
  4. Spray Glue It! Spray glue the strip of tracing paper and fix it to the center of your card.
  5. Emboss it! Next you need to emboss the sides of the strip of tracing paper. Draw some squiggles over the edges of the strip of tracing paper with your clear embossing pen, so that half of the squiggles go onto the card, and half go onto the tracing paper. Use the gold embossing powder and your embossing heat tool to emboss the design onto your card.
  6. Stick The Foam Square! Stick a foam square to the back of your gift, so that the clump of beads cover it. Fix this to the middle of the gold-embossed strip (in the lower area of the top half of your card).

And voila! The birthday card idea comes to life!
