Acient Daisy Card Making Idea
I made this card for a group that sends cards to our military stationed outside the U.S. Sometimes this is the only way our soldiers can get cards to send home to loved one.
My inspiration for this card came from the tutorial on making aged flowersavailable to subscribers of the free Making Handmade Cards Newsletter.
But I decided to do a variation of the card making idea shown in the video tutorial, by using inkjet printable vellum.
I chose two patterns from the Petal Patch eKit. I used my Cuttlebug machine to cut and emboss the larger scalloped circles (using Nestabilities dies). Then I created the flower by using the Cuttlebug flower dies and a rhinestone.
I cut the flower stem and leaves, freehand, from vellum and attached it all to the card.
Finally, I "distressed" the card edges and some of the flower by using an ink blending tool and the Tim Holtz distress ink 'Old Paper'. I used my heat embossing tool to dry some of the wet ink spots on the card which caused the flower to lift up a bit off the background.
